Hello fellow Red User,
I'm proud to finally share some images from one of a long term personal project.
It's being three years already, their is still work to do, and people to convince before a final release.
But it is now advance enough to share.
I don't know how I did manage not showing any frames in mouvement during all those years?
2014 is the year I guess.
Special kudo to signore Battistella who generously gave his time, gears and voice for this project.
Thanks David!
I wish you all the best for this new year and hope you'll enjoy this little teaser.
Enjoy and Peace.
Brice

Very nice!!!

The idea would deserve something more like an extension to Marco Polo and his journey from Venice along the Silk Road to China.

Brice, please give me a call when you are ready!!!!

Sanjin, it sound like a good idea maybe you should give a try to this one.
Even if National Geographic covered many time the story of silk.
Your point of view could give another perspective to the whole story.

As for this modest project the lead character is a Mulberry tree and the whole story articulates around him (it).
If you don't mind let me develop a bit.
This plant have been imported into Europe (8th century) from China and/or middle east for business purpose, the silk.
During European silk fever, the Mulberry tree was the center of all attention, we use to call it the golden tree or the wise tree.
Fact is when the silk business did collapse, European did lost interest with it.
The majority of them have been pull down to the benefit of more lucrative plants.
This tree who came from another part of the world and has been a legend in Europe for so long, is today not known anymore.
And I have to confess without noticing an unusual activity of different mamals eating all together white Mulberry in a general consensus,
I would have not done a research on this tree and its attractive fruits.

Today the silk is made where the labor cost less, because pulling leaves from the Mulberry and feeding silkworm need a lot of hands.
It is the logic of our global world who tend to go faster than ever.
Much faster than the artisans who closed their shops in Europe.
Some excentrics in Europe continue to produce amazing quality of silk material with machines who are more than 300 years old. Even if it is a long process, a bit like a plant who grow.
Their is no modern machine today who can beat one those old looms.
A modern machine will produce more but not better.

So in a world where I can buy strawberries in winter time and seasons have no sense anymore.
To me this abandon vegetal is a good parabol of human behavior in general.
Humans can be pure genius when it's about using the resources of the planet for profit, but not that good when its about interacting with the whole diversity chain.
We just tend to change the biodiversity for our own profit, and then the rest adapt to it or not.

@ Justin, glad you enjoy that piece. Thank you!

@ Kennan and Karen,
I guess I'm lucky you was in-between two flights for another adventure in the wild when I did post this teaser.
Coming from hard core wild life shooters like you two, your words are telling me I'm on the good track and giving a lot of confidence for the next to come.
Thank you

@ David thank you for your support and enjoy the Californian sun.

Thank you all again for having watch.
Best

Great work, Brice! I would say that you may want to work on the color grading a bit though. But after seeing the still grabs, I'm thinking that it may be just the web compression on the video making some of the the colors look flat.
