  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

The Future of Follow Focus Now- Optitron by OptiTek

Be very wary of customer service from Optitek. They have been a nightmare to deal with. My firm cannot even get a response to our enquiries.
 
It works on Red with our mount adapter now.
We are implementing the newly opened Red protocols so it will work with Red mounts soon.

Do you say that it will work with the regular Canon mount from RED, without your mount adapter?!?
That would be absolutly crazy awsome! :)
How much will this system cost with wireless FF, and how soon can I order it?

Yes it works with RED Canon and Nikon mounts now.
We are finishing the software at this time. We are also launching OptiTron2- Very small, compact, full featured EFF.

Jacek, did you fixed the problem with the cable on the mount? When you have new frontfan on your Epic the cable get stucked and will breakdown very easy. Can you see now what your iris is on the Red Lcd/ VF? Is the remote now waterproof at the sliderpart en does it is more smoother than before? And is your sevice better, i had send so many emails to get my money back and lost a lot mo dy on it. I hope you are doing better now!!

The original OptiTron has been available for a year and a half so yeah- the future is now and has been for a long time. Some people just prefer to live in the past- nothing wrong with that I say....;)
 
What will I need to do remote focusing (optitron v2) and what approx will the total cost be on this kind of set up on an EPIC?
Will it work on Sigma lenses? The new Sigmas are great optically, but not so much mecanically... This could remedy that.
Looking forward to buy this product :)

If the lens is compatible with the Epic it is compatible with the OptiTron. We "talk" to the camera and the camera relays the commands to the lens.
