  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

The First Trailer Of THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN shot on epic

TWO THINGS!!!

I so wish i didnt watch that! videoed from a phone!!! for crying out loud!...

The other thing is... They are re-doing Spider man from the start again.????? The original is like only 6 years old... Man theses remakes are getting seriously to close to each other.

It's like they siad to each in the baord rooms or WARNER.. Ya know! we fucked the first one up, lets reshoot it!. And everyone in the room goes YEAH!!!!!! what a great idea!.

Rohan, I appreciate your enthusiasm -- but it seems the only versions of the trailer available online now are SD or 720p versions of bootleg videos taken by someone with their phone in a movie theater.
Thus, they are FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR from representative of the image quality of the actual film. Obviously, even the official 1080p version, which would be light years beyond what
is currently available online, is still highly compressed and limited in terms of how it's going to look versus quality 2k/S3D or 4k/2D projection.

Thus, I don't think it's fair to post this right now ... as it will lead to unfounded "this looks like s#$!" comments and possible FUD.

I have no doubt the real film and even the official trailer will look amazing, so let's be patient and wait for it rather than linking to bootleg iphone versions illegally posted to youtube :)
 
I could do without having to rehash the whole "beginnings" all over again. That takes up like 30% of the movie, usually. But that POV shot looked great!

As for the image quality, that is not in question. This was shot on the Epic, so it's gonna be off the fucking charts.
 
I know anthony,i just thought people here at the forums would love to catch a glimpse of the first movie shot fully on epic and i think the people here at the forums are smart enough to not judge picture quality from this footage...........

I completely understand your point, Anthony. But anyone using this cam'ed trailer as reference for a discussion about EPIC, would probably only risk making their own professionalism look questionable...

If anyone wanna watch this REALLY POOR quality trailer of what very much seems to become a VERY, VERY AWESOME movie - then go ahead, fine by me. But I can't wait to see the official released version now!! :D

btw. You ever played MIRRORS EDGE? Well imagine that shot in 5K ... and 3D!! ;D
 
well yes,it was expected it has been taken down, footage will be shown at the comic con this week. The trailer looked great even in that shit quality,i can only imagine how great the official 1080p version will look cant wait to see it now..............

I'm not sure about taking the series in such a dark direction. I feel like it will still be a great movie (based on the pedigree of the talent), but I really think Raimi hit the feel of Spidey right on the head in his trilogy even if I really didn't like the series much (part 2 was very good!).

Totally agree. Plus, they plainly ignore the fact they're trying to sell tickets to the wrong age group....
 
Thing is most origin stories you know, best super hero stories start with the hero as his fully fledged hero. The best way to tell an origin in my opinion is throughout the story, the first normally, the origin is peppered in. Heck spiderman TAS from the nineties started with him as spiderman taking care of the lizard in the first episode with no hint of his origin. His story is not told tell the next or a few stories after that and very subtlety.

Though I believe these movies can be universal and appeal to all audiences, that means appeasing the comic fans, the television show's fans, and now the new movie series's fans, not an easy task. I'm actually looking forward to this more than any other comic movie, Raimi had great respect for the material, but his third movie fell very far from the mark(as did some of the performances throughout all the films).

Can't wait to see my 10th no probably much higher than that, well one of my favorite super hero's on the big screen in 5k(well 4k if I'm lucky and worst case 2k)
 
It appears that someone shot this off an AVID monitor. Sony saw it and I assume is investigating as we speak.
Not good.......
Sad to see Schwartzman's fine work on shaky iphone quality...

Sony is rather brutal on piracy......

Hi Peter! Two things, first is that even in such terrible quality you can see a lot of Mr. Schwartzman's signature style shine through! Second, a few websites have reported that Sony has been telling the ad agencies that sell to the popular movie websites that they may pull ad buys from sites that linked to the video....so yeah, they certainly take it seriously!
 
Dont worry guys,it has been made official,the teaser trailer 1080p version will be released this thursday past midnight on apple and yahoo movies. Let the countdown begin...............
