This forum has been incredibly helpful since I started working with the RED about a year ago. Before I post this link I just wanted to thank all of the talented and knowledgeable people that write here for creating a great learning environment.

Anyway... here is a project currently in production shot on the one and only.

*UPDATE*

We landed a quick segment on ABC's Nightline on 10/29, check it out below

Awesome!

Loved the score...and the footage wasn't too bad either :001_tongue:

Where was it shot?

Thanks for sharing.

JEFF

Beautiful footage. Really first class nature photography, very upscale.

I'll bet the crew was picking bat guano out of their ears for weeks. And fragrant too...

How long is the piece? Do you have a television release?

Congratulations

Yeah the project is being shot in 2k, 3k, and 4k all 16x9, those little guys are hard to capture. Can't really disclose much about the project (location, release, ect...) since we are still in production. I appreciate all the feedback though!

Yeah we were definitely knee deep in guano (literally), not to mention the thousands of mites we discovered crawling all over us and our gear when we left the cave... The crawling and itching sensation still haunts me.

Very nice footage, editing, and music score...

It takes a ton of preparation, patience, stamina, equipment foresight, and skill sets to shoot something like that.

A well conceived and executed piece...

some bad ass shots in there... Hope you can share more.

later,
jason

Great stuff!

Glad it was about the real bats and not the sport tools...:tongue_smilie:

Very cool stuff man. I can't imagine being down in a cave like that with all those bats. I've only filmed bats that came out from under a bridge in AZ and I got close enough to get some bat spice on me and my camera. Should be an awesome project when its finished.

Also I would have had a full body bio suit going down into that cave. But that's just me I guess.

We wore Tychem suits and bio hazard masks, too much Ammonia down there to not wear a mask. Also a fungi called Histoplasma grows in the guano that can get in your lungs and give you all kinds of problems.

Nice stuff Nick.
I'm originally from San Diego and don't get back to the left coast often enough.
By the way, any special protection for the camera in Guano land?
