Last thursday I was kindly given the opportunity to go down to Houston and be a part of Ketch's M8 shoot and man was it an experience.
I have always been a huge fan of RED and have always kept up on this forum for the past couple years and I thought what better way to introduce myself to reduser than with my experience.
So naturally when thursday I came around it was no question to skip my History of Motion Pictures class to go and be a part of history. I knew it was going to be a great day when I arrived and saw two R1's were being used just for the live stream. This was also my very first time to ever be around a RED camera so you can imagine how excited I was. I could not get over the size of the EPIC, I mean it would be impressive if the RED team was able to fit the new technology into something the size of the R1 body but the fact that it is almost the size of a tissue box is absolutely incredible... incredible. I cannot imagine where camera technology would be right now if RED had never been created. So a big thank you goes out to the visionaries who brought this technology to us long before other companies would have ever pursued such a camera.
Ketch and Joseph are a great team and two people i'm honored to know. I want to thank Ketch and Joseph for letting me come out and experience history in the making. They are two great guys and I hope someday I will be able to return the favor. This truly made my year.
Now lets get to what you guys really want. PICTURES
Ketch warning to the ladies to not throw paint that way. heh heh
When ketch put the camera in my hands for this picture I could only hear one thing playing in my head. "He's got the whooole world, in his hands, yea he's got the whole wide world in..."
and also a huge praise goes out to everyone else who made thursday a success:
Ryan Schorman
NewDef Media, Ltd
Natalie Nelsum
Peter Blanfurd
Tony Shields
Joe Christie
Chase Rees
Joshua Dallera
Andrew Bienavides
Melissa
