Hey guys,

So I shot a couple of shorts on my trip to LA in October. One of them is a sci-fi thriller called "The Divine River."

A MINI-TEASER for it just went up here: http://www.vimeo.com/9246378

There'll be a proper trailer coming soon, but we're currently in post and lots of VFX and sound work still to be done. There's also a prologue chapter (mini-short) that'll be coming out before the main short, and that was DoP'd by my friend Macgregor. The main short was DoP'd by the supertalented Chayse Irvin (www.chayseirvin.com). We shot the film using Ruairi Robinson's RED, who was an huge help by making it available to us. Also, Mike Hedge and Karen Abad shot all the BTS photo's -- and Judd L. Tilyard produced the film for me.

Anyway, I loved shooting on the RED. It's a phoenomenal tool in the right hands, and my DP's rocked some amazing images out of it on both shorts. And not to mention the Lomo's, which were just gorgeous. I can't wait to use them again. Maybe on the Epic next time? hehe.

If you dig what you see, come join the facebook group, or follow me on twitter. There'll be a lot more info soon. For now, hope you guys enjoy the mini-teaser. :)

Can't wait to see it.
I really liked your last short, it convinced me you don't need shallow DOF to make a cracking short film.
Will you be releasing it online when it's done, or will it be reserved to the festival circuit?

BTW that teaser poster design is great.

i want to see more! cant wait for the final result ;).

Can't wait to see this. When is the premiere? :)

Thanks for all the comments so far guys.

It'll be released online most likely. We shall see though.

As far as wanting to see more, there's not much to show yet. But here's some concept art images. I'll see what else I can dig up later...

Thanks guys.

I tweeted Stu a link, but its just a mini-teaser, and i imagine he can't post everytime i make a film lol. Either way, started a topic in his DV Rebel forum at prolost. Lets see.

Norm -- Chayse rocked it. Pleasure to work with, and i'd do it again in heartbeat. :)

Genre addict just did a mention of Divine River btw: http://www.genreaddict.com/movies/p...z-waraichs-short-sci-fi-film-the-divine-river

Sweeeet!!! Why did you go to LA to shoot this? Let us know..

Mostly because a lot of the people I wanted to work with were in LA (Chayse, Macgregor, my producer Judd, one of the actors Stephen, Mike Hedge, etc etc) and it was easier for me to fly down, as opposed to have all of them fly up here. I knew it would make for a better project to have the right people involved.

Happened to get lucky that everyone was in LA at the right time. :)

Looks cool. I really like the look of anamorphics. Looking forward to see more footage of this. That weapon looks about as easy to carry around as a .50BMG rifle would be.

You have to have a big gun to bust a time continuum cap in the Fish's a$$!

Yeah though it does look pretty damn big!
