The Swedish manufacturer of the A-Cam (The smallest, lightest and most affordable HD/Super 16 film camera in the world...) is apparantly releasing "the digital A-Cam" according to their website. All it says is:

- High res. 12 bits uncompressed images
- Stored as individual files in RAW Cinema.DNG
- The fastest memory in the world
- 80 GB Solid State cartridge

Does anyone have any info on this camera? I love the A-Cam and can't wait to know more about this digital version..

Earlier discussion on the A-Cam here on RedUser. Don't think they actually have a camera built yet. But hey, who knows?

Don't know if there will be no reason for the digital A-Cam, but if it comes to be more expensive than Scarlet, it's most likely going to have some major problems selling in the market. The ability to shoot with interchangeable c-mount lenses is great and all, but really, which people currently shooting digital today have a full complement of c-mount lenses (or any)? My guess is not a high percentage. And the release of one camera probably isn't going to revitalize that market unless it's both high quality and relatively cheap.

so, it's not possible to mount LOMO Anamorphic lens in ikonoskop?

The thing about a c-mount lensemount is that you can easily use an adapter to go to pl - mount, nikon or practically any other stills mount. The switar lenses for the bolex (c-mount) were also great although not the best for pulling focus. It could be a great little b-camera with a smaller size than the scarlet.

You're right, of course. I actually have both a switar lens for my Bolex and a c-mount to Nikon adapter. They're great! I just don't see it taking off in a big way; they still seem very niche to me.
