  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

"The Clutch" Shoulder Rig

Is this plate similar to that RED One's cheese plate ?

The Clutch arrived the other day. Man that thing is sweet! I don't have a camera to put on it, but I can tell it will be just what I needed.

I tried the Clutch at NAB and it was pretty nice. I still dont understand why it is seen as superior to other options like the Mantis. To me the chest brace was a cool idea if only standing upright with the rig. But I'd have to fight it to keep the cam on-line if I crouched down for a lower angle. Since you have the clutch can you explain what you see as what makes the rig such a winner over more traditional designs like mantis?

The Mantis is a very nice and well tough Shoulder rig in itself, but the Clutch takes it to a different level of modularity design and mounting possibilities, we have mounted so much stuff in so many different ways on the Clutch,
and love it so much, that even so I am having issues with the shoulder pads, all of them do to the pressure I am filing on my week bones, I have taken it apart and using an ET pad and no support pads on back and chest,
I still need to have the rest of the components as the Clutch is really that good to give options of configurations.

But for those that do not share the same Bones issues as I do then the entire support system of the Pads is a great design, but the fact that you can mount all kind of accessories via the Rosettes and the mounting holes in 14/20 all over the place is a huge plus, the handle grips are also simply the Best amongst all the other rigs out there with out question.

Thanks for that feedback Ketch. Food for though. I wish you good luck building a rig that works great with your constraints!

Thanks Paul,

the truth is that Doctors say, I am an a very hard headed patient that does not understand that I should not use such tools at all... But I just am not the type that can seat and watch... ;)

Take care!

is there a shoulder pad that can be bolted to a short arri dovetail that we could slide under RED QR Platform ?
