Just looking for opinions on shoulder mounts of Epics.

Red's Clutch seems interesting, but I have not heard much from anyone about it.

Anyone try it out yet?

that thing is marvelous,
shot some tests with it today,
it's rock solid, stable and
the shoulder and breast pads are awesome!

even if the configuration was not absolutly perfect,
I have to work out the postion of the VF but anyway
it rocked and it was easy to shoot with that thing...

I allways think the center of gravity of the camera is too high.

I used the following config (from action product) to shoot in Portugal where the main actors where smaller than me.

Interesting... Can you under-mount the Epic on the Clutch?

I have not shot with it, but at NAB I literally went around from booth to booth testing out all the quality shoulder rigs ..... and nothing came close to the clutch in terms of strength/solidity, adjustability, and also fast assembly/breakdown (if needed).

There was really no comparison, it's worth every dollar spent. Once my Epic is closer I will be getting one without a doubt.

Thanks for all the opinions everyone! Sounds like the clutch is the way to go. But I'll check out Patrick's suggestion as well.

If any one else has any suggestions for products to consider please post them. Especially anything around $5000.

I've used it and it's fantastic. The camera sits on your shoulder hands free. It's lightweight and totally adjustable. A must! The very best handheld rig I've ever seen.

ps. and I keep trying to get my real name listed!

This is hands down the best handheld rig ive ever used.

Even had the local Arri Media boys trying to work out a way to get an ALEXA mounted on it properly after I demo'ed Our EPIC there.

I putted the batteries on top to switch fast from handheld to "smaller handheld" or tripod.
Very happy with it and for me one of the best rigs I used!
But waiting for the bomb evf...

Just got mine today. Still no Epic (I wait for my Epic X), but the "old" RedOne worth it !
Did not try "on the battlefield", and I think for a long day, I will use the easyrig, but with the Clutch, the camera fit very well on the shoulder.
With the SSD, the weight of the RedOne a considerably changed. With a light lens like the 17-50, and filming with the Red is really a pleasure.
