"The Caller" Trailer. Stephen Moyer & Rachel Lefevre Psych-Horror film shot on RED
Hi guys. Wanted to share the trailer for our latest work, "The Caller".
My post house has been working on this for a long time (over a year) and finally we have been cleared to release some stuff.
We did all the postproduction in house, except for the Film-deliverables which where done by the nice people of Technicolor-NYC.
Old sensor, mix of Cooke S4's and some Superspeeds (Mk2's I believe). It was a great job to do, and very cool to be in charge of everything (I personally did the VFX QC & Post Sup) from the moment the director yelled cut, all the way thru to final projection/deliverables
Lots and Lots of work went into this, not only creatively, but also making sure that we had a consistent noise/graint texture, great aparent sharpness and color consistency. Our director REALLY REALLY wanted film, so did the DP. It was a great uphill battle not only convincing them to shoot red, but also knowing that for everything that went wrong they would shove the choice of the RED in my face. At the end, the best compliment we got from the Dir/DP was that not only did they LOVE the result in the end, they would gladly shoot with it again
FYI, graded from RAW R3D's, rendered at FULL 4K, downconverted to HD for Online purposes. Rec709 full range monitoring on our Cinetal and Complete DPX workflow till the end.
Many Thanks to the guys at Light Iron & Michael Cionni. They shared on this forum how they did The Social Network on Rec709. Before that we had the longest conversations about this, and only when Michael Posted about The Social Network being Rec709 did they truly believe us that it was a smart choice. Also, THANKS A TON to all the knowledgable people who share their knowledge daily in these boards, couldn't have done it without you (Jake Blackstone, M_Most & Mark come to mind
!!!
