I recently read an article regarding the use of the RED camera on the film, The Book of Eli. In the article, they described the use of a camera mounted on a bungee cord that was used to film a long take scene. They said that the steadycam did not have the elevation range and the shoulder cam was too shaky. They instead mounted the camera on a 200 ft bungee cord. This sounds like a great solution but I was looking for more info on this rig but could not find anything. I was wondering if anyone knew anything about the bungee method. The article pics do not show how it works which is a little frustrating.

You just hung the camera on the bungee cord and drive it with your hands.
Adjust the cord to the camera not otherwise.

I get that, I was just trying to figure out where the rig was located and whether the mounting position was stationary or if moved above the camera. The article just shows the cords but not its relation to the rig above. I am trying to find out if there was tension and the cameras weight pulled down. This seems like a one off rig type and I have never heard or seen of anything like it before.

It was attached to a 100-foot crane. There's an article that talks about it in another thread in this forum.

Hello David.
I saw an article in ICG magazine in the January issue of the present year. In the article there is an explanation about the bungee cam.

Cheers
