THE BLANKETING is Trevor Mack's first official short film. The film takes place in the early 1800's and is a non-linear story about a confrontation between a tribe of Tsilhqot'in (Chilcotin) First Nations from the Northwest Coast and a group of road builders from Vancouver. The film delves into the controversial subject of the smallpox outbreak that nearly exterminated the entire Tsilhqot'in people. It is a fictional short story that combines stories of the Chilcotin War (1864) and the smallpox outbreak (1850's).

Behind the Scenes:
Yes, unfortunately we haven't completed the short film yet. I am shooting for a late November finish so I can work and make money for the festival circuit next Spring, etc. Then afterwards I will be uploading it to Youtube for all of you to see.

Our shoot consited of three 12-hour shooting days. We had to deal with animals, babies, the fact that we had no cellular service, and we camped. It was a life changing experience and even if the film doesn't turn out how I wanted it, I wouldn't change the experience for the world. If you guys enjoying watching behind the scene videos (because I do) we will be posting ours in a week or so. Just make sure to like us on FB.
