  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

The Best Wireless HD Transmitter for under $500

Personally I'm hoping mods close this thread since it got all crapped up with a bunch of nonsense.[/QUOTE]

Well, I hope not. Agreed misinformation is not helping anyone and slinging mud back and forth isn't too far behind.

But, I for one have really benefited from the creation of this thread as it brought a great product and competing ones to my attention. I'm still a bit confused as to the difference in actual price and the title of the thread...specifically the less than $500 part if the price for the system is listed at around $200 on the BriteView website.

If this is backlogged, how much time would someone who decides to buy one have to wait? Just an estimate will do.

Thanks.

Fantastic Dan, great job!

I'm definitely interested in the mount/power kit so I'll email Charlotte.

Thanks for posting!

Jim

Howdy,

So Dan, how are you guys getting an HDSDI signal into this thing? Or are you just going HDMI? I thought HDMI killed the sdi signal? To be honest the only thing I have ever done with hdmi is connect my blue ray to my TV so I don't know ;-)

Nick

No HDSDI @ Nick

Hey Dan,
Size & weight for Power Kit please

A few quick questions:

How long would I have to wait to be able to purchase the production models of the camera mounting and power supply accessories required to use the system?

What handheld monitoring options are available/recommended? (Assume a director likes to walk around with his own little video-tap slung around his neck).

Any interference with other camera related wireless systems? Specifically, the Bartech Wireless Focus System?

I'd mostly use it just to get a feel for how my actors are coming across, and I'm picky about who gets to see playback.

Considering the Epic comes with a histogram and a few other things on the Redmote, most monitoring requirements(outside the big stuff to show the clients what you're doing on corporate/ad work) should be minimal.

I guess that's the beauty of working with RAW, just stay between the goal posts and the magic will (should) happen in post. And with HDRx enabled...forget about it. (Shit, I remember always being told the phrase "we'll fix it in post" should never be uttered on set, but that might change with the Epic considering its muscle.

I'll wait for the production units. I don't have an Epic just yet so I can wait. Thanks for the info and I'll probably pick your brain the closer I get to acquiring the AirSync.

Dan. Quick Question. how many of them can I have on set without interfering with each other? or they do not by design? I need Minimun of 4 working at the same time.
and you said the whole kit should be under $500.00 Trans/Receiver, Mounting kit and Battery adapter right?

Thank you for the quick response. I can live with 3. but 4 is better.
now I sometimes do Sd projects. so my question is is the resolution proportional to the Range? if the resolution decreases does the Range increase?
would you please give a hint to the rest of my previous question. It does not have to be 100% accurate.

I hear Honduras are amazing.

Not sure if you meant Honduras (the country) or Hondurans (people like me). But rest assured both are amazing.

I looked at the DP6 you recommended and am also considering it as part of this wireless monitoring kit.

I wonder why the discountinued their 8'' model though?

A question about battery life: the simple Cannon battery you used in a few of the videos, how many hours can you get off that?

Dan, i was in for the boxx setup but im willing to wait for your setup.
Do you have a timeframe for this?

Here you go, Luis.

For Production mounting/power units - they go on sale Q1 -2011. For Preproduction units - you can get in line now by contacting brite-view with a request.

From what I understand though, you could get it earlier. Check the rest of this thread and you'll find what you are looking for.
