Hi guys,

I'm about to embark on some promo shoots involving direct capture from next gen consoles/P.C's in a studio environment.

I was wondering about the best way to record a clean high def feed of gameplay.

Would I be right in assuming that capturing video and audio via HDMI/Component onto a BlackMagic/Matrox RT X2 or similar card (PC based workflow you see) straight onto an edit rig is the best way to go?

Thank you very much.

I use a high quality scaller from TV-ONE, mine's is SD only, but there's HD version of the CA-5200SDI I've got. I think it's 7200 series. Also Edirol (Roland Group) has a great scaler, but I never had a chance to actualy test it.
Then just plug into the HD-SDI of your HDCAM deck, editing system or so.
