  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

The best track dolly under 5-6K

That's a very open ended question. For the money, you can't beat a Dana Dolly. www.danadolly.com It rides on track and smooth as butter.

Are you looking for a dolly that the operator can ride? Do you need a boom arm? Little more info might help people with their responses.

Yes Danna dolly is good but yes I mean Dolly where operator can seat.
I know Matthews dolly, Panther Husky dolly, Movietech Sprinter dolly, GF Quad Dolly, maybe there are some another.

where are you located? I'd keep an eye out for a used one on craislist, lot of grip and rental companies post there, picked up a couple deals in my day-- got a nice crab dolly, enough room for me and an AC has a pneumatic lift arm. Picked it up for a couple hundred bucks on LA Craigslist :D I've seen a few moviolas go for real cheap too... good luck!

The best dolly for under 6K is

http://longvalleyequip.com/dolly.php

I've sold 3000 of them over the last 20 years. Full set up with 20' of straight and full circle of curved is under $2k.

PS - that solid flexible track doesn't work on grass, gravel, bumpy sidewalks, dirt or any other really uneven surface. My track does.

Slider it is slider, track dolly it is track dolly.
I Think in USA the most popular track dolly is Matthews Round D dolly.
But now the trend is that skateboard wheels are not very good and metal wheels much better and smoother.
Wheels like in the most expensive Magnum dolly Item No. 1200-253.

Every top brands now go with these kind of wheels instead of skateboard wheels.
Movietech, Panther, GFM are the top brands of track dollies all they use now this kind of wheels.
