Hi guys,

I'm after a PROPER EVF mounting system. No fuss, no wiggle, no slipping. And I'm wondering if anyone's used the Wooden Camera Air EVF system, and can comment on how well it performs? I want a proper EVF solution that can easily move from a shoulder-mount position (at the front of the camera), to a tripod position at the rear of the camera (using a quickly exchangable extension arm).

Wooden Camera seem to be the only crowd that I can find (other than Arri) who are making a proper EVF system like this. So it'd be great to hear feedback (if anyone has any), or if anyone knows of comparably robust and easy-to-use systems from other manufacturers, I'd love to hear about them.

Cheers,

Mark

I typically use a monitor more these days but I did own the Wooden Camera mount for a while when I did use an EVF. While I can't comment on other mounts, it should work perfectly for your needs as that's exactly how I used mine. It adjusts quickly and holds really well. I was using a modded Blackmagic EVF so mine was super lightweight if that matters, though, you can adjust the tension very quickly and easily with the thumbscrews so I imagine it can support a decent sized EVF. Once you get it dialed in all you have to do is grab the EVF and move it. Done!
