Reshooting a remake of a movie only shot 5 or 6 years ago... I still can't work it out?

I think it has to do with Sony Pictures pressured to make more Spider-man movies because if they don't, they will lose the movie rights to Disney/Marvel. I do find it funny that Disney/Marvel doesn't even own their flagship character movie rights, but that's because Marvel sold them years ago to Sony before Disney stepped in.

One of my curiosities regarding the film also has the back story that Sony originally wanted to go with their cameras to film this but Schwartzman was set on using RED EPICs so Sony went with EPICs. If you guys ever run into That Employee Dude, you should ask him about this story, he tells it very well.
