well Paul, it's my opinion that you PRACTICE doing a restore from your LTO7 drive, just to make sure it works. You did not say what LTO LTFS software you are using.

Yes, did some tests and also there's a verification pass. I just mean in 5 years time when some random need comes up and will it work then!

I'm just using the standard quantum LTFS drivers as part of a Win 10 installation. Pop a tape in, format and drag copy folders in.

Is there something to make a copy of the tape directories locally in a catalogue?
