  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Thanks to RED - won Gold at ACS awards for Epic moco timelapse piece!

We are suitably chuffed to have just taken out Gold in the Experimental/Specialised category at the Australian Cinematographers Society (Qld) Awards for our Z-Flex Skatelapse piece:

Could never have pulled these shots off without our trusty Epic-M and the camBLOCK moco system (special mention also to the stellar Duclos Tokina 11-16mm). Used HDRx on a few shots as well.

Sincere thanks to RED - your positive impact on our business has been enormous.

Congrats!

Nize. How about some production info? Got me scratching my head a little...

Congratulations Dan, that's some amazing footage.

On a side note, I'm in stitches right now. That's my mate in the background hosting the night hahahaha. He had great things to say about all the vision displayed.

What were your thoughts on his hosting talent?

Fantastic!
Congrats dan.
Cheers

hah! small world...
He was a great guy to work with. We sponsor the Awards by running the AV on the night and calling the show - always good to work with presenters who know what they're doing.

Currently cutting together a rough little behind the scenes clip of how it all came together.
Long story short - we shoot 50-100fps passes of the skater on the camBLOCK, then drop in some NDs and run the same move timestretched at 1-2fps on the background. Then a buttload of compositing & grading :)

Wonderful! Thanks for sharing how you did it too. Would love to hear more about the composting and grading.

Thank you, you answered my question. Your buttload of work paid off. Congratulations and keep on being crazy creative!

Thanks for the tip on how you did that Dan. Loved the 360 flip in front of the rock wall at Kangaroo Point (looks like KP anyway). Looks awesome.
