  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Thanks to Helium, the integrated Scarlet is technically a viable product

If my calculations are right, then a 4K cut of the Helium sensor will be about 15mm wide. A 4.5K cut would be about 17mm wide. That would mean that an 8x zoom lens (18-145 S35 equivalent) for those sensors would not be very large.

Back when the 3K Scarlet was in the prototype stage, it didn't have the new sensor tech, and it didn't have ProRes and all the modern goodies. I bet a 4K integrated Scarlet would be a very nice product indeed. Its form factor would be somewhat smaller, I'd imagine.

The lens would be matched to the sensor, and flange focal distance would be as small as possible. In fact I'd love to see an anamorphic version, which would be a little more involved than having just an anamorphic lens instead of a spherical one. But, this is just a little dream, so I'll leave it there.
