  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Thanks Noah for the great book...

man i dont know if my Heh Heh Heh's still work anymore with the new avatar.. I look way too pissed off :)

With composition of the shot it appears as if you are watching my back - on guard duty. It also appears as if you are oggling the two satin draped models I am grading on my primary monitor (not that i blame you!!)...or are you doing both. oggling the models and watching my back.

With a bleach bypass feel. I like it.

Jarred,

I may be reading way too into this, but are you alluding to possible integration of the Wave with RedCine-X? That would be wonderful.

That is exactly what I am reading from his posting.... Maybe we are out of tune. Who knows. :reddevil:

Jarred,

That is part of your signature and cyber persona, no matter how much you change your avatar. So, keep it using it. Otherwise, I may think your replies to my postings lacking it are being rude...:emote_whack:

Should I buy this if I dont have a Red one. Silly question I know, but maybe it will be helpful when Epic/Scarlet are released?

Perhaps you will make more books for them too?

Jarred,

only what I know is that R1, Epic, Scarlet,... all have a bright future. :emote_happyhappy:

Noah- great book, nicely laid out. Things change so fast though. Any plans for updates, revisions? add-ons? Do we have to keep repurchasing the book every year to stay current???

how do you like the tangent wave sanjin??

Like it, the price is matching performance. Pretty useful tool with Color 1.5.

Hope that some other will come later....

i think it's clear that jarred is alluding to the wave being useable with REDCine-X. which is awesome.

Wave support for ROCKETcineX would be the best just because you can use it on set
(Mac BookPro 17" plus any Magma like enclosure plus REDRocket plus Tangent Wave
plus HP Dreamcolor or even any other HD-SDi monitor...).

It's about R3D REAL-TIME fast grade on set.

Purchased a copy at Amazon today - and I don't even have a RED camera yet. I remain confident the book will prove useful when I finally get my hands on a Scarlet :)

We're following up with online updates for the moment. RED is of course a big moving target but I tried to put enough general filmmaking knowledge into the book so revisions weren't essential to the book keeping its value. It covers a lot of ground.

Just got my book, and wanted to congratulate Noah not just on the content, but how it is organized. Very well done, indeed.

Love that you can just skim through it and always find interesting tidbits.

Should come with each R1 camera - and go out on every rental.

It was a great book Noah, I just finished it the other day and I must say I did learn a lot but most importantly it helped me solidify what I thought I knew. Anymore books planned in the future?
