  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Thank You.

Jarred, Brent, Johnny Chang in the Bomb Squad, and who knows how many others at RED populate and actively create an incredibly inspirational team and company.

"Go the extra mile" becomes "go the extra marathon" with Brent and Jarred and all at RED.

You all have completely transformed cinema and imaging to the immeasurable benefit of the community of filmmakers at large, but to a very measurable benefit to each of us individually. When I was a teenager in the 90s, I would fantasize about not only working with, but personally owning the same 35mm motion picture cameras and film stocks used to film the movies I loved then and still love such as GOODFELLAS and PULP FICTION, for example. RED has gifted all of us with the ability to put that imaging power into our own hands for a fraction of the price of what it was for decades until recently. While RED is not the only cinema camera company out there, in my opinion, they have done the most to push it forward, keep innovating at an insanely aggressive pace. RED is transforming and modernizing cinema at large. But more meaningfully for me and I would think most of us here on reduser, RED is transforming lives. For that, I am eternally grateful. Here's to the next generation of filmmaking tools, the heroic RED company, and the next generation of filmmakers. Thank YOU, Jarred, Brent, Johnny, and everyone else at RED Digital Cinema.

No, Jarred. Thank You. Thank you Jim, Brent, Graeme, every single one of the "Rock Stars" that are part of Red.

Filmmaking, audiovisual creating, storytelling, movie making... Why do we work on this field? Yes, for some, it pays well. For others, not so much. But I believe those that work, or decided that this was what they wanted to do with their lives, the decision was made because of passion.

Red, for me, reflects this passion for moving pictures. Moving pictures, storytelling, should be passionate, shared, talked about. Not an elitist group of pseudo intellectuals or entitled Corporations made of people that place themselves above others through protectionism, through closed lobbies. Movie making in all fields should always be about talent, about the quality of what the creator(s) are presenting.

Red broke the status quo. The communication, the push of boundaries, the care for the "Rebels", for the ones trying to break out of the "establishment", or those that had something unique to present but weren't "allowed to play" due to prohibitive, exclusive technologies only attainable by a select group changed the World of filmmaking.

As someone that has followed Red since the beginning, and that got the chance to get in and purchase the Epic, I could see all the passion that was behind the camera. The Redcode Raw concept, the Resolution, the offered mounts for different lenses that outperformed the ones offered by the lenses companies, the modularity. Red was a company that absolutely pulled no stops to give to the one shooting images absolutely the best and most versatile options at their hands.

This forum never stopped. For what, almost 10 years now? Never has the red team stopped caring for every user's problems, suggestions, etc. This direct line with the costumers, with those that want to learn, to share its unprecedented. The strong community here is an example of Passion for motion picture making, sharing, and support. I've personally met redusers and fantastic shooters because of this forum from different parts of the world. This is part of the passion. I'm sure this is also a big headache for Red, but its something I really can't thank enough for existing. The moment I ordered the Epic MX I knew exaclty what accessories to order and when my camera arrived, I just boot up the camera and was ready. I hardly ever added any other module- just one or two that were released after- because of this sharing and information.

Jarred, Jim, Brent and Red Team, you're, for me, the extension of the passion of why I chose to dedicate my life to moving pictures. I personally thank you all for being the ones to give me the best "brush" to "paint" my stories. Your "brush" truly inspires me to keep creating. I can't find this from any other company.

Keep it up, keep doing what you're doing. We are not going anywhere!

Your kindness & and most importantly, your gratitude, is appreciated and is what will literally separate hundreds of thousands of dollars from me to RED over my lifetime. You do business the old school way, for the people. It's how I was raised, it's how I operate, and I'm drawn to it. Refreshing is RED. Thank you for being a light in a world gone dark.

Which, speaking of dark, Helium will take care of that little problem for us....

In an increasingly depressing world of shareholder-primacy and rent-seeking it's so incredibly rare and inspiring to see a company swim against the current and care more about pioneering products, local manufacturing and the needs of their customers.

When free-market capitalism inevitably crumbles into something more beneficial for the masses instead of the few, RED will be one of a handful left standing. I hope to be there filming it on a 12K VistaVision Weapon using a hover-tripod and an affordable anamorphic zoom :)

Thanks Jarred! RED is an amazing family! The very best customer service I have ever experienced in any company ever has been with RED. Your team gets the vision!

Thank you Jarred & the RED team so much. Yesterday was full of emotion and and crazy excitement. never before have I seen anything like this with any company. its just amazing. Thank you so much for everything you @ RED do! very humbling to know we are all pushing this industry forward.

Thank you to team Red! I've only had Scarlet-W and Raven in hand for a few weeks, but they're the best cameras I've ever used, still or video. Really upping my game! It was a much longer wait than anticipated, which presented some challenges, but I didn't feel uninformed, ignored, or out-of-the-loop.. truly unique in our industry. Customer for life!

Thank you Jarred. Every RED camera I've come into contact with I've immediately loved using. The compression, the ergonomics, the weight, the workflow, the modularity, the accessories, they are all amazing. I'm so excited to finally be a RED owner after renting for years.

It was certainty a bummer having to wait month after month for my S-W but I'm glad I waited for the E-W and the extra time gave me the financial ability to afford it (but the finance plan is amazing so I figured I'd get more accessories and use the plan!). Anyway, it really feels like you cared about us who have been patiently waiting and the discount is truly amazing and something that no other company would ever do.

Your ability to adapt to everyones complaints and problems while making everyone happy is commendable, I have no idea how you do it. I'm sure once everyone gets their hands on their cameras they'll all be thanking you and hopefully be sending you some 1-800 flowers orders. I know I will be. Thank you Jarred.

Thanks Jarred.
I'm started to type this combination of letters without watching the keyboard, and I'm from abroad :-)

Sadly not currently in a position to buy into DSMC2, even with the amazing deals on offer, but I'm glad that Red shook up the industry and continues to push the envelope. It's been a wild ride!

Wow.

And that is a big part of why we are here.
You guys rock and continue to prove it. If there is one company I'd choose to work for, root for and be called a fanboy - it's you.
So: thank you!

You had me at hello.

Holy Fuck!... Jarred I can only see that your words ring true with the actions and reality of this company... This in not normal.

This is a fighting force for creativity and passion, not driven by greed or numbers, calling out the standard CFO process... ha ha, really striving for most of what is true in this life. This is completely unheard of in business, let alone from within a business that creates a product that pretty much says fuck you to profitable restraints.

So... thanks Jim Jarred and all the Red crew :sifone:

I never imagined a year ago that I would be waiting to receive an 8k Epic-W. I feel like I've been forced creatively and professionally out of my comfort zone by simply being a part of this community. I was going along with life as normal, and would've been content with where I was -- but now I realize that I can be and do so much more. I can't thank you Jarred and team enough for making that a reality.
