For me the grand standard for motion - how things move - is film - 35mm film. Seen mostly thru a DI or telecine - but that motion feels the most organic. Various different digital cameras do different things for motion - mechanical shutter, global shutter, rolling shutter - and have different ways to process and create motion - and to me some cameras feel more unlike film than others. I'm not a scientist, I can't quantify this - I need to try to become like a scientists and do tests to see what affects motion - does sharpness, softer imagery has better motion - running digital thru a telecine would that help - is there software or something to use to look into this?
