I always thought Terminator II was shot with anamorphic lenses, so I was surprised to find out on IMDB that it was shot with Zeiss Super Speeds and cropped. Anyone know what exact lenses were used on the film? Mk II, III?

2's and 3's look the same really

"The Abyss", "Terminator 2" and "True Lies" were probably shot not only with Zeiss T1.3 lenses, but also using Zeiss T2.1 lenses for the missing focal lenghts (14mm, 28mm, 40mm, 60mm macro, 100mm, 135mm, 180mm) and some zooms, which may have been Cooke Varotal lenses. These are some of the very few big budget shows of the time that didn't use Panavision equipment. Cameron probably used Panavision cameras and lenses (Primos) on "Titanic" because his original DP, Caleb Deschanel, was a long time Panavision user. "Aliens", though not a Super 35 movie, but normal 35mm 1.85:1, used Moviecam cameras along BNCR lenses (it is said Canon K35's).

"Terminator 2" also used Nikon lenses for the highly unusual (for 1991's standard) number of VFX shots. Sometimes you can clearly tell where they used VistaVision and Nikons because the lack of barrel distortion and the straight lines of the sets every time a full frame shot comes.
