What do the two temp numbers represent? i.e. 39/57C....

I looked at the manual and it said "core temperature". Why are there two numbers then?

Thanks,
Jack

The first reading is the sensor temperature, the second represents the core temperature of the rest of the electronics.

1. What the difference between the two types of black shade : "current fps/exposure" vs "default"
2. Will I see a difference in the noise meter if I have shaded correctly?
EDIT:
3. Is there an ideal temp to shade at?

Thanks,
Jack

1) default will black shade @ 1/48th, current fps/exposure will black shade at your current shutter speed.
2) you'll see a difference in your overall black level noise if you have shaded correctly, this will be somewhat apparent in the histogram if you cover the sensor and push the iso. The RAW clip meters will not show much of a difference unless the calibration is way off.
3) ideal temperature is the steady state of the camera in your current environment and shutter speed

1. page 124 to 125 on the manual
2. yes
3. Yes, working temperatures, leave it on for about 20 minutes and then black shade with no light hitting the sensor at all. Body cap on plus black cloth if you can.

This has been covered extensively, many, many threads.

I know - Ive read them. Maybe Ima bit thick but sometimes its redundancy (and source really) that help me move with confidence.

Thank you.
