I'm shooting a short series of cars exploding. A-cam will be a Phantom Flex 4K, delivery will be HD so we can punch in for detail shots.
Ideally, I'd have something like a Canon EF 400mm f/2.8L IS II USM Lens
but I can't imagine how to rig that beast to a production camera. What telephoto PL mount lenses are out there in the 400mm f/2.8 range?

I need a lens that will accept a matte box so I can put a circular pola in front of it.

Thanks,

Bill

We made some Canon smart adapters for the Flex 4K so that's one option.
I would not put a pola in front of anything longer that 150mm- the flatness of the glass severely affects the lens sharpness. They all have a filter slot in the barrel(for that reason I believe- and convenience) so you could put a pola in the back. Much better option for tele lenses.

Thanks for the tip, Jacek.

i suppose the Fuji Cabrio 85-300 T2.9 PL would be close to what I'm looking for, then there's a 300mm f 2.8 Canon listed on Radiant Images website.

I agree with Jacek about not putting a filter in front of a lens that long. I often use the 2.8 canon 300mm with a doubler, and I also have an 800mm that I use with a doubler. There is nothing special about using a lens like the 400mm on a production camera. You just use a lens support and a beefy head. Shooting slo mo takes a lot of the shake and shimmy out of the set up, but a gear head with reduction gears would be my first choice followed by a big beefy head on a set of ronford mitchel based sticks.
