yes, but also something in the form of what we used to use, like a neg report.

Not to be obtuse, but for a digital production, isnt a report showing that all files copied over and their checksums basically a negative report? What more would you like to see? I know a lot of people who use the reports provided by R3D Data Manager as a digital verification that they forward on to producers, etc.

Michael,

I have a couple of good camera reports and tech worksheets. I put them up for you. Here is a download link:

www.redsquad-brooklyn.com/downloads/red_worksheets.zip

(I did not create those by the way but those who did put them in public domain and i am too lazy too look up their web links...)

R3D Data Report Sheets

R3D Data Report Sheets

These are the R3D Data Report templates that our DIT's have been trialling for the last couple of months. Their main use is to keep a record of all of the data that has been copied on-set and verify it in several ways.

Very much a work in progress - comments/feedback welcome. Can also post some examples of completed forms if you need better explanation of how to complete them.

And in addition to the data management/transfer reports, there are other great tools such as Clipfinder which has a very comprehensive cataloging/documentation feature, with thumbnails, customizable metadata, etc. At this point, there's very little excuse for not being able to provide proper reports to production/post. :-)
