On a slightly more serious note, I almost didn't notice the guy in the tree! What's he doing up there!
This proves that innovation is tantamount to success.
The companies that Jarred brought up all seem to have stifled innovation for the sake of profit. Where does this bring us as audience members, consumers, and filmmakers when we have a voluntarily stagnant entertainment industry? Well, that's when we end up becoming content over things like a 1080p "Full HD" standard.
We are STILL just catching up to film in terms of resolution and imagery. Ever see a 70mm print screening of 2001: A Space Odyssey[/I] or Patton? They blow everything I've seen projected digitally right out of the water.
We have yet to gaze at an entirely new spectacle, something beyond anything we have already experienced. Who's going to make such things possible? RED, and any other company willing to put innovation at the forefront.
Jim and the RED Team deserve their success 100%.
It is the 1st time that the best camera in the world has been made in the USA in over 100 years. By a team of 400. Not 100's of thousands.
Best Team. Best Product. Best Customers. It really is that easy.
There are 360,000 employees at Panasonic, 170,000 at Sony and 140,000 in the Japanese Army.
There are only 400 employees at RED.
The goal in 2005 was to build the best camera in the world.
In 2011, we succeeded.
EPIC was conceived, designed, prototyped, and manufactured in California. Not Germany. Not Japan. Not China.
It is the 1st time that the best camera in the world has been made in the USA in over 100 years. By a team of 400. Not 100's of thousands.
We are very proud to be shooting the biggest budget movies this year.. as well as the smallest.
Just a few...
Spiderman 4
The Hobbit
Prometheus
Contagion
The Muppet Movie
Oz
Elysium
Jack the Giant Killer
Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
The Great Gatsby
Underworld 4
I hate you, Dad.
Then add the best fashion photographers in the world shooting covers for Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, W, Interview, Esquire, Vanity Fair... and a ton of others.
The best movies and the best stills... same camera. Never done before in the history of cameras.
The RED team is complete. We don't have a few of the best horses in our stable..... we have all the best.
We have the best product, and by far the best customers.
We are not a scam. We are not "beta". We are here. Now.
We challenge the industry to respond.
Please.
