Very funny. Its true but only colorists really notice it. Now that I see it, it does appear in a ton of recent trailers.

It may be a fad now, but it's the natural exploratory course of color correction IMO.

In the future when we have even more control of what we can do to the image visually, be it with easy rotoscoping or what not, Color correction can be taken even further and colorists can become painters that will touch up every inch of every frame.

Yeah, it's a fad. Like every sci-fi movie after The Matrix looked sickly green, it's a fad that'll go away only when it's replaced by a new fad.
