TC Sync in FCPX

Can you sync picture and sound (ONLY USING) time code (both R3D and external audio have time code) in FCPX? I see stuff that's saying syncing other ways and I see how great and easy it is to sync in RCPX but what about FCPX?

Sorry, i'm sure this has been asked somewhere in this section before but after alot of looking i haven't been able to find the answer to this simple question.

I think the synchronize feature also uses timecode to sync. Have you tested?
It uses timecode and audio, so I think if your clips have matching timecode you should be fine.

Another option is instead of making a synchronized clip, is making a multicam clip. There you can check off 'using audio waveforms' and check on 'using timecode'.

So I have clips and audio with the same time code. When I select both and select "Synchronize Clips" it makes a new "Synchronized Clip" but it's anything but synced. I can do it through -make new multi cam clip <camera name
<Automatic
<Timecode
< uncheck use audio for synchronization
it works but I have to click on the clip that's made and enable the audio that's listed as camera angle #2

So I've got some way of syncing that's better than the old manual way but it does seem odd that it's not straight forward like how it is in RCPX. It's seems weird that (from what I can find) this isn't too much of a problem from too many others. :sneaky2:

edit,addition: Tried to sync the same test in RCPX SUPER SIMPLE!!!! I actually divided some of my audio clips while recoding and it made no diff to RCPX. I simply brought all my clips into RCXP, went to audio and selected the entire folder with all my sound, set match to "Bin (all clips), hit auto match, made sure the play back channels were on EXternal audio, clicked on the clip in the bin, AUDIO SYNCED, that simple..

Jamon, have you checked out Sync N Link from Phillip Hodget?

Does that do what you want inside FCPX?
