Tangent has come out with a budget concious panel.

The Tangent Wave.

Optical trackballs, enough controls and displays and a good price.

Great for field use and probably a good system to get started in DI.

Looks ideal for Color, Speedgrade On Set, and many other things...

Tangent Wave

Introducing our new panel: The Wave

A mouse or pen and tablet is not always the fastest or

easiest way to use your colour grading software.

Wouldn’t it be better if you had something real to get a hold of?

Well, the Wave allows you to do just that.

Price: about US $1.800?!

I even heard that is about US$1900.

The product is made in UK and somebody said it's 1000 that should be GBP (United Kingdom/Great Britain Pounds)

when converted is about US$1900 or it depends on a daily exchange rate basis.

Is it made from plastic?
Anyone at NAB have tried it before?

Well, based on that pict, I think the trackballs & the knobs are too small for me.

Hi Luki

You must have some experience working with that device already.
How is it?

Cheers

I heard that be because its USB and not Ethernet that it won't work on Color.

If anybody is left at NAB.... we have 4 WAVE panels that we are showing in our suites at the Renaissance working with SCRATCH, and also a couple out on the show floor.

Cheers,

Lucas

Very nice that it works also with a big apps like a SCRATCH.

I don't know how Color connects to panels, but the Wave is a USB-only device.

It's pretty cool. It combines a lot of great elements from the CP-200 series. The first several units that we are using (we have serial#0001) are prototype units, and Tangent is going to improve them significantly before they ship. Lots of little stuff.

But overall - fantastic device.

My vendor confirmed Tangent will be providing connectivity with Color. Today, the Wave panel will not work with Color, but it should in a few more weeks.
