  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Tangent Wave, REDCINE-X & REDROCKET

Why do you use an Aja for converting the HDSDI output of the redrocket and not the breakout box ?

The BOB currently does not support 10-bit on the HDMI ports.

When it does I will get the the breakout box. Sanjin and many others are probably waiting for the same....

That's a good reason. Thank you to all for this very usefull thread. I will follow you with a dreamcolor and an external box for my future Rocketcard.

I have the JL Cooper Eclipse, and I'm dying for that thing to work with Redcine-x. Is this something we need to chase JL Cooper about, or can RED integrate this? It's such a sweet surface, and color integration is pretty good.

Sanjin,
Let me see if i have this straight:

You are using dreamcolor and getting 10 bit yes?
*achieving by running hd-sdi out to your converter box then hdmi or display port out to the dreamcolor?

Is that correct?
Question, does the converter box require a card installed in the pcie slot or is it a straight conversion box?

that said, i like the link you supplied with the three choices. Blackmagic seems to offer as much as the others at a better price point. I have yet to look them up independently, but assume they all have HDMI or display port out.

I'm all out of pcie slots, so looking for a way to get 10 bit monitoring to my dreamcolor....and only way i see how to do that is via RR card's hdsdi out and then convert to either hdmi or display port into the dreamcolor.

I think i'm sniffing this out right no?
Thanks,

Setting up wave

Hey Sanjin,
wondering if you are able to change the setup of the tangent. I just plugged mine in yesterday, and now back on the road, only got a few hours to play with it. I notice that if you go to "applications" you can open the WAVE up and assign different tasks to the controls---BUT, i did not see ANY REDCINE controls on the WAVE application. So for instance, if i want to assign TINT to one of the controls, i don't see how we can do this. Or is there a download some place where we can add REDCINE as one of the options to assign to the WAVE?

Thanks Sanjin

Hi Guys, I just bought Wave for my on set (basic) grading. Just wondering about wave mapping, since I work with curve, kelvin and effects quite a lot. Still confused which command is for which.....LoL. Please advice. Cheers!
