EDIT

SORRY GUYS!!

Do to Health reasons and more pressing matters at home, I have no choice but to abandon this project, and return to Italy at once.

Look forward in gaining my full health, well, as much as it can be allowed any ways giving my conditions, ;~) and return to a similar project bak home.

Love the leather seats and popcorn machine!

You may want to put in some regular fluid heads, not just the geared heads.

I'd also add some alternatives to CF cards, especially for longer format recordings.

I'd also get some DIT kits, with MBP and plenty of harddisks/LTO drive.

Am very impressed upon your venture! Best of luck!

Thanks Martin,

all in the works still, but so exiting it is not even funny, the seats are to die for, Fluid heads will be part of a second gear list, the DIT LTO etc. is part of the two Sprinters on set full capture DIT system.

I'd definitely agree with martin, 5 fluid heads and 5 geared head. I can't wait to come play in your playground :D

Changed to 5 + 5, even so the actual gear list differs a bit and has all the specific details, 2 Fluid heads were already included as we already own them.

Wow man, that's quite a venture. You know we're all pulling for you. Sometimes in life you have to go for it all. The worse that can happen is that you fail, and even that is better than never trying at all. Wish you the best of luck with this and can't wait to see the place up and running! See you in Vegas!

Thanks Steve, the support of all of you guys is incredible and truly drives me forward with just that much added strength, and at times when I'm down a bit, I think to my self that I have an entire community behind, and that I can not absolutely fail, but if I do it will be okay, but TRY I must with all my strength!

See you soon my friend, and hey.. now will not just have the girls but home made POPCORNS to :).

I love popcorn!

You'd need many more batteries than that for 10 cameras.
But you will never use 10 300 mm lenses at the same time.

Only buy what you need on a regular basis, rent the other stuff. It's more efficient.

And don't forget about the people! It's not the gear that makes movies, it's the people.

Good luck with your venture, Ketch!

Thanks Adrian,

This is just a starting kit, and the batteries actually will likely be not purchased, as we hope to be able to get the new Battery systems from the SDMC systems, but they are there as to provide a $ Value to the list, I tucked the pricing off.

As far as the 300mm, well yes off course will be unlikely to use them all at once, but in fact they are there as to represent a dollar amount as it was originally published, but when the 18mm will become available that is what they will be 10 of.

Looks like a great location Ketch. I wish you all the best and hope to visit your new digs at NAB10.

Save me some of that popcorn.

ps: if you need me to help you sneak the Tiramisu into the Red gathering again this year, I'm game.

Sony-AMC in Major 4K Cinema Deal
KETCHFRAME
Offering
In a new $315M deal with AMC Entertainment Theaters will equip all of its 4,628 screens at 309 theaters with Sony’s 4K (4096 x 2160) resolution SXRD projectors. While there is very little 4K content today, a growing amount of content is being shot with 4K cameras or telecined at a 4K resolution.
Sony Pictures Entertainment recently announced it will make and release most of its filmed productions using 4K technology. To support this, Sony is currently developing a complete line of digital 4K cinematography production equipment, including systems for 4K acquisition, storage and post-production.
As more 4K content becomes available, AMC theaters will be able to show this content in its native resolution - a marketing edge, AMC obviously believes it is buying a more future-proof solution. And, by embracing this path, it is accelerating deployment of both 3D and 4K.
Sony’s digital cinema group has now signed digital cinema deployment agreements with four major studios: Walt Disney, Twentieth Century Fox, Paramount Pictures, and Sony Pictures Entertainment. Disney now has 17 3D feature films in the works (with several new ones and special packages announced this week). For a listing of all planned 3D theatrical releases.
World’s largest cinema group to install Sony 4K across entire circuit!
Regal Entertainment Group, the largest motion picture exhibitor in the world, to install Sony 4K projection systems across its entire circuit, means a huge number of people will be able to watch their favorite movies at the highest possible quality. Regal’s decision to install 4K in its 5,000+ screens, added to AMC’s recent announcement that 4,500 of its screens will also go 4K, means Sony has secured the industry’s largest commitment to date, now standing at around 11,000 systems.

“The rollout of these Sony 4K systems gives Regal the opportunity to utilise the latest technology to provide our patrons the best available presentation,” said Amy Miles, Regal Entertainment Group’s incoming chief executive officer. “Sony’s state-of-the- art 4K systems produce the highest levels of resolution, contrast and overall image quality.” The installation of Sony 4K systems across the Regal Entertainment Group circuit will create the most extensive 4K deployment to date.
Moviegoers in markets across the US will witness this transition to the latest technology and have the opportunity to enjoy Sony 4K. “We are proud to offer our customers the latest technology available with the 4K projection systems,” Miles says. “There is certainly a value in marketing this technology to our patrons since it is the best available in the industry.”
There now is an unstoppable momentum behind the conversion to digital cinema, with all its benefits of higher picture quality, reliability and increased revenues from alternative content and 3D content.
All the time, 4K and 3D move forward. More and more blockbusters are being released in 4K by the top studios. Two of the highest grossing films of the year, Angels & Demons and X-Men Origins: Wolverine, have been released in 4K. For cinema owners choosing SXRD 4K projection systems, there is the double benefit of 4K quality for 2D movies as well as the option for 3D.
“Digital 3D has proven to be a popular choice of entertainment for our customers, and we are able to charge a premium price for 3D films. Along with the enthusiasm for 3D that we see among our patrons, many filmmakers are eagerly embracing this technology too. There is a long list of 3D films already in the pipeline for the next several years.”
“As we move toward an all-digital future, exhibitors are going to need the product, resources and marketing support of companies like Sony Electronics and its Digital Cinema Solutions and Services group, in order to offer their customers the most compelling state-of-the-art cinema experience available today,” said Mark Zucker, President, Sony Pictures Releasing International Corporation.

Top grossers release in 4K, X-Men Origins”: Wolverine and Angels & Demons premiere in 4K Three of the worlds biggest studios have released 4K versions of their films this year. Sony Pictures’ Angels & Demons, the world’s biggest grossing film of 2009 so far ($252 million to date) and Twentieth Century Fox’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine, the third biggest grosser of 2009 ($170 million), have both been released in 4K, as well as Paramount Pictures’ The Soloist.
Andrew Stucker, Director of Sony Digital Cinema Systems in the US, says it marks another break-through for the 4K movie-going experience.
“With The Soloist, Wolverine and Angels & Demons, it is the first time three high profile 4K motion pictures have been in release at the same time and also marks the first time Paramount and Fox have distributed in 4K,” Stucker says. “All this is a result of Hollywood's recognition of 4K as the superior image format for distribution and of the expanding installed base of 4K projectors – both summing up to the best possible entertainment experience for the movie-goer.”
And! as Hollywood continues to embrace digital technology, the pipeline for new and innovative content generation will continue to grow, leadership and innovation has been a strong commitment to advocate of the industry move to a full-feature digital to convert 4,500 screens to Sony 4K that provides the highest picture resolution of all Hollywood’s biggest studios.

not a criticism, a question: how's the moneymaking going to work? is there business in vegas to justify such a huge amount of pro equipment, especially non-rental?

always wondered how a non-rental does its dealings...thats CRAZY gear for non-rental!!!Can't wait to see what gets done with all of it!

Wow, congrats!

Sounds like you should get a few more Mantis!

Please, make sure to make the main post room acoustically stellar. Don't skimp on that or I will personally kick you in the shin. I am talking, no right angles and full on serious lucas-sound sound treatment with some serious custom installed and tuned 5.1 capabilities. The real deal... the REAL real deal. Please. You will be very happy you did. You MUST be able to hear the brand new movie theater experience.

Other than that, CONGRATS! I wish you lots of success!

Hey Ketch,

if you really want to be taken seriously you need a better finishing station/setup. Scratch or SpeedGrade DI should really be driving that projection system. I think Color is great for what it is but once you work with a more robust tool you will understand it's value in the finishing phase. My suggestion to add to the list,
1x Onebeyond workstation w/RAID storage built in, NVidia FX 5800 card w/SDI option
1x SpeedGrade and or Scratch License
1x Onebeyond San sollution
1x Cinespace software from Cinetal
2x Dreamcolor Monitor
1x Panasonic 11 Series 50" Plasma TV
1x REDROCKET
1x Tech to set it all up and Calibrate it correctly.

It's more expensive than the free Color tools from Apple but you should have a professional finishing sollution to match your production gear. My two cents

Yes, there is, besides the Film Making, Motion Pictures, there are the Casino's which do spend a large amount of money regularly in advertisement, both Videography and Photography, which will do both, but as of now large production do have incentive to come to Vegas, but there is no one that can serve them as well as we will, and the Interstate traveling of all their gear defeats in part the savings, as some how, not sure how, they then get additional cost superior to those of the savings, by coming to shoot to Vegas, but we look forward in representing a true step forward in Digital Acquisition here in Vegas, at a true Pro level, were any Major Studio, if need to can acquire our services and our facility.

Haha thanks, no kicking in the Shin necessary, I promise, the editing stations will each be independent and have state of the art certified Sound systems, the main station in front of the 4K System is about 30K just for the sound.

Yes Mike don't worry it is not listed but there will be TWO Scratch System and the RR are already included in teach of the Three MAC stations, the reason some of the stuff isen't here is because I edited and tucked out the pricing that I had initially put, but the two Scratch stations are inside the 200K Sprinters :eek:hmy:

I thanks you for your advises do, will make sure to paste this for the guys to see any way.
