  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

yup there is a slot of Backfocus.

They will fit with any plate we make... including the clutch. It is pretty tricky :) Will reveal the rest of the bits Likely November 3rd.

Argggg.. Really though it was more like impossible! But you are RED, I just have red hair.. What was I thinking!

Sooo.. Red top plate and iPhone 4s all in one day.... Sheesh! Need more work! Thank god for Ford and Burn Notice!
 
Does RED gear go on sale EST or PST? basically when do I need to get up to order this plate?

I'd say I've had the same experience and am also curious as to if RED's plate will allow an increase in strength of the REDMote connection?
 
Don't worry you can sleep in.. The first batch didn't make it out of anodizing by the end of the day so deposits won't open up till Monday :(
 
Somehow I was able to make a deposit around 3:00, would I need to redo it on Monday? Or does that order count.
 
Nope Luke your order Counts... a few of you snuck your orders in when the product went live on the website before the web guys could finish.
 
To back up Jarred, Red had a prototype of this thing on display at NAB back in April, so it's not new by any stretch. Just new in the store!

Would be great at some point to see a comparison of Red, VF/Brook and Wooden Camera versions.

Definitely want to order at least one of them! Points in favour of Red's - native manufacturer, seems like the thinnest and most form-fitting. Price is right too. Decisions....

So true, I was at the Amazing Spiderman 3D set, looking at Brook's renderings, while He was on a short brake, I was amazed of the design of the FMJ plate and trilled to know that I would have one of the first batch to use on M8...

But Brook, did told me of Jim's and Jarred's visit on set as well, and that a RED Top Plate was already coming, so at list Brook did get the heads up, and any way did sold a all bunch of them, as they are great!!

Good thing is, choices are good... Even so I got a bit worked up at Wooden Camera Top Plate, I guess, we all have the right to show case our best shot, and the best part is the WE the customers WIN,
as more choices become readily available to us... ;)
