  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

System requirements

According to Redcine-X Operation Guild-Build 355 and Higher:

Mac : Intel processor,system OS 10.5 or above,with 1GB disc drive free space and 2GB
RAM
Windows : Microsoft Windows XP or above,with 1GB disc drive free space and 2GB RAM

It runs on my five year old Macbook, and you can play 3K footage (at 1/8th res if you let it cache). The screen resolution is the biggest problem - you may need an external monitor.

If your laptop is newer than that, it should be more than enough to learn the app but I'm not sure how it would hold up in production use.

I have an older MacBook Pro, 2.8 GHz, Intel Core 2 Duo that is running RCX, but it's a struggle for it. Hope that will give you some type of comparison, depending on which version you have.
 
I have an early macbook pro 1.8 dual core, but couldn't run the last version of Redcine-x to view some of the Epic footage. I am going to install fresh matched RAM as I've been having a number of problems with it, which I think might be RAM related. Hopefully that will help?
