In the works of getting a new system for online post. Want the new mac pro eight core with Blackmagic HD Link Pro. Just wondering if to actually show 2k do I need a raided hd or fibre? Or could sata drives playback 2k through the card?

RAID will help but you wont get RT no matter what you do.

(I'm hoping someone will tell me I'm wrong)
