  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I do a lot of aviation stuff. Let's say I am shooting in 4K to my Red Drive and then I want to do 100fps of a landing - what is the easiest quickest way to switch to 2K? It seems the easiest would be to go to a 2K formated CF card, but how do I tell the camera to switch from the drive to the CF card?

You can shoot 4K, 2K at different frame rates to the media as long as the project frame rate (i.e. the playback frame) remains the same.

Hello,
i do this so very often when making music videos so heres what i do.
We always keep the 25FPS in the project.
in 4K16:9 we keep it simple as possible.

when shooting 2K16:9 100FPS i do the following:
System - Project - Resolution - jog the wheel from 4K16:9 to 2K16:9.
Then...
Sensor - Varispeed - VarispeedON - rotate at Framerate 25-100FPS.

make sure your Shutter speed is at what you want it do be (i may change when u change Varispeed Framerate).

hope this was the answer too your question.

1.System - Project - Resolution - jog the wheel from 4K16:9 to 2K16:9
this i put to user button A
2.Sensor - Varispeed - VarispeedON - rotate at Framerate 25-100FPS
this i put to user button B

erases the need to dive through the menu
the shutter is set to relative

True that! ;)
