So, this seems to be something that Red can do as it records both Edge Code and Absolute timecode. Is there a way to specify which timecode track you are using in post in the actual R3d and not via the proxies? I know you can open the proxies in Quicktime and select which timecode track that you'd like to use, but I want to be able to choose which timecode track is being used post-shoot so that in redcine, redalert, or any other r3d aware program it shows the timecode of choosing and in exports, has that embedded and avoid the proxies all together. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Specific apps I'm curious about are Scratch, Redcine, Redrushes, and Premiere. One would think though, that if you specify post-shoot which timecode track to use, it would show up in any r3d compatible app. Thoughts? Pointers?

SCRATCH sees and can switch between the timecodes of R3D files on an individual basis.

Can you elaborate how and where in Scratch? I take it too that you have to do it clip by clip vs copy paste forward or some global setting? We have one and this would be beneficial to know. Thanks.

In the Process menu, where all the R3D metadata shows up, there is a timecode switch between Primary and Absolute. Both timecodes are shown and you can switch between the two.

Right now, this is a clip-by-clip operation.
