We are getting more and more jobs like this.

We got this gig about 12 hours before the shoot. I shot it in a few hours last week in between photography flashes (in fact I had to remove a few frames to get the flashes out...see if you can spot them). Working side by side with photographers isn't ideal as you can see from the majority of the exposure in the clip but it is a credit to the dynamic range to be able to pull stuff from what little we did get.

These jobs are built for the lightweight set up of the new generation RED cameras.

3 Lenses and a body all fit into one bag. Show up with a monopod and a little shoulder rig and you've got your set up all square.

I didn't even have a variable ND for this one so I had to crank the shutter on the slo mo stuff.

The entire piece is natural lighting and some fast lenses.

All done and dusted in a few hours of cutting in AE and coloring inside Resolve.

Patrick...

Really nice, what lenses are you using on the Scarlet?

Yeah, killer stuff Patrick. I particularly love the last frame grab... stunning.

The lenses were the Contax 25 & 50 and the Canon 70-200 2.8 II.

They really dont match but a little Resolve goes a long way to helping them along.

Hey Patrick have you thought about paring your Contax primes with the Contax 80-200 F4 zoom? It may match better than the Canon Zoom. As you've been shooting with a lot of available light recently, I don't think you'll notice the one stop difference. The 80-200 is a TERRIFIC bargain and performer. AND..it has stunning 270-360 degree barrel rotation for gorgeous rack focusing. Just something to keep in mind...its small too, so very easy to lug around.

I'll be keeping an eye out.

Never been a big fan of the ebay route. I've always had average results with "mint" lenses.

KEH is amazing though.

These Contax may be taking a back seat to the Canon cine primes once the 85 is released. Too many productions needing standard lenses.

But I'm definitely holding onto them for all my one man gigs as they can't be beat for weight/brightness/look.

G'day Patrick
Love your work
I've got the 25 and i'm looking at the 50 1.4. Do you find they match well?

Thanks
Rick
