I have the Wooden Camera Nato Clamp is awesome. I'm supremely happy with it and their locking Rails.

Hi Curran,

I was just about to buy the Wooden Camera clamp so I am interested in your experience. Could you expand a bit on the problem. Are you saying that there is a design flaw in that once you mount the LCD there is insufficient room to actually loosen the clamp?

These first hand reports are really useful because of there is just so much stuff floating out there that might be useful but there is no opportunity to actually try it out first. I have a whole shelf of dead red one accessories already ...

It is called the Bolt-On Camera Guide Clamp:

I'm about to order one of these myself. I tried the Wooden Camera one but it didn't fit my needs. Also with the WC clamp you need to use washers as spacing otherwise you can't loosen the clamp with the LCD mounted on top.

Works perfectly for me, no washers. LCD lives on the WC clamp, goes anywhere. I'm really pleased with the WC stuff, very high quality build.

I cut a small piece of nato rail that screws to top of top handle, so the whole rig pops off to stow. I'll post a pic later. I didn't get nato rails until I started using them, now I'm hooked.

A few units were out of tolerance and the issue has been resolved.

Ah, I must have just had a bad one then. I was wondering why both ends of the clamp were flush at the top, and you included washers too. Thought maybe that was just the way it was designed.

I'm happy with the Safty NATO rail though. Just in case someone picks up the camera with the DSMC Sliding Top Handle that isn't secured.

I think it's the 5' touch, just photographed wide angle and close... I am seriously considering postponing the 5' purchase until the 7' is announced. Last we heard was January.

Back to the NATO rails, any other combinations you guys feel you couldn't live without?
