I'm about to buy an upgraded Scarlet Dragon. I'm told it has the Skin tone OLPF in it now, but I want to switch out that one for the Standard OLPF.

Is that something I can do here at home? A friend of mine said that some Scarlet Dragons can't be swapped at home, but have to be sent back in to RED. If that is true, how can one know which one they have?

Thanks.

Stephen

IF (!) it is a model where OLPFs can be accessed and switched, it is quite easy. There is a brief video on the RED site (which I couldn't immediately find right now... sorry) which nicely illustrates the process. The new system was installed in my camera when I had it upgraded to Dragon.

I would guess that the original owner knows whether the OLPFs are user accessible. If he doesn't know, then I might guess it is the "old" version and would have to be sent back to RED.

EDIT: Found the video: http://www.red.com/store/products/dsmc-low-light-optimized-olpf

Thanks, Terry!
