I was sad that my surface pro 2 could only unloads my redmag from the reddrive at 24MB per second.. took 30-40Min to copy them..

Surely enough, I changed USB 3.0 cable to a shorter one, did the Windows8 Updates and firmware updates it recommended, and uninstalled the USB host drives. Let the tablet reinstall them..
(scary moment as the tablet becomes unresponsive for 10-20 seconds) just push the power button quick and again to turn it on.. result:

Suddenly it copied a 4GB Redcode file in 29 seconds!!!! 3.2 times faster than before!!!

Tried a full 64GB redmag took 8 minutes!!! no kidding. (redmag direct to tablet desktop)

RedDrive to External SSD USB drive test:

I got a cheap USB 3.0 hub from Maplin (the white one) Connected RedMag and External SSD (2.5 enclosure with USB3.0 and SSD inside) and even a mouse dongle.. It works WITHOUT POWER!!!!

How ? Get the 10,000 mAh USB battery with 2A USB socket (mine's from from Maplin), connect it to the RedDrive.. and Voila.. a portable system to empty 64gb RedCards to a External drive.. in 8 minutes!!

For it to work, make sure the Redmag and External drive are plugged in exactly opposite each other on each end of the Hub.. (for some reason doesnt work plugged in next to each other)

For some reason the Surface Pro comes with slow USB drivers, doing Windows8 updates and reinstalling the USB drivers in Control Panel did the trick.
