Hi everyone!

Im working on how to make a superlight, both portable and c-standable videovillage, for a director who needs to be in the action. Theres going to be two SmallHD DP6 or AC7 together in some way, and two Paralinx recievers. Hopefully, everything can be powered from one v-lock battery pack. All the cables and batteries is another question, but Ive looked into Ultralight Control Systems for a possible grip solution to it all. Anyone care to take a look?

Its basicly a meccano/build-it-yourself kind of approach, which I think is handy in this situation. The picture in the link is what I think can do the trick. One rod for each of the monitors, and one for the recievers. What to do with the battery, I havnt solved yet.

Any thougts?

Thanks
Regards
Howard

I feel like there are many other better solutions to this... and this type of solution may inevitably look kind of unprofessional. I guess one important question is how much you are looking to spend on a solution to this "superlight, both portable and c-standable videovillage" ?

Cost is as alwyas an issue, but my priorities are form, function and cost, in that order. So if you know of any alternatives, please share them :)

I've used ultralight on a show with DP 6's and found they slip a bit and are somewhat unwieldy. We returned them after a week. We replaced them with RAM mounts. Cheap, infinite configurations, and strong as hell. Fewer knobs to tighten than UL. Go straight to their website. I'd recommend using configurations that use their 1" ball.
