The price is going to be high, the T1 spec alone should see to it.

T1 almost comes across as affected. How many scenes actually need that kind of shallow DoF? At that point the shallow DoF actually becomes a distraction, and attracts more attention to itself rather than serving the creative purpose of a shallow DoF in the first place. Reminds me of all those super shallow DoF pictures people so love to share on photography forums taken with their precious Canon EF 85mm f/1.2L.

Someone ought to make a sharp and affordable set of T2.8 or slower PL mount lens. That's plenty shallow for most people in most situations.

This one goes to 11! Hopefully with the Dragon we will be able to use all kinds of glass. I would make any rash decision until we see that. On the other hand you have used the Epic Monochrome, would these lenses be useful on that camera?

Agreed someone needs to make an affordable set of cine lenses...especially with price drops of cameras...there is going to be a big need for lenses....$2k-$3k per lense would be the sweet spot. The still glass are way below that and can resolve a lot of resolution....they just don't have the mechanics for cinema... I don't really understand why the same cine rehoused canon prime is 6 to 8 times more expensive (from canon themselves!)...

Toia, I'd love to hear your earnest thoughts on these once you get your hands on them. Whether that's rental or purchase, I'm curious to know how sharp they are wide open, and what kind of aberrations there are.

Basically, the same thing you did when you got your hands on a Monochrome Epic.

The goal of these lenses is not sharp/perfect wide open. Actually the opposite in some ways. They are going for a creamy, organic, less than perfect feel. By 2.8 they start to sharpen up. I suspect they will be beautiful lenses, but at a price of course.

Knowing Adrian's work, the footage probably looks amazing.

Yeah, I didn't actually mean "aberrations" in a bad way. For once. But I am really curious to see the character [probably a better word than aberrations] these give when wide open.

60 grand each - 500.00 a day to rent each - just shot with them - beautiful!!!

60K a lens ?????

even though german engineering standards are remarkable, but how could this possibly be justified ? I realize there goes a lot of research, trial and error into the development of these lenses but.....seriously ? wow
Do you get a free Maybach with every complete kit order ? ^^
