Curious what everyone is using, what works and doesn't work, and what your budget studio desktop for real-time editing would be?

More detail the better!!!

Thanks,

Use Geforce 1080 instead of Titan, use X99 motherboard with USB-C instead of super expensive RAID cards. The things you need to put a lot of money into is the processor, internal SSD for software and a lot of RAM, hard to cheat those. At least 8-core for processors and 64GB for RAM (works with 32 but more the better).

Of course it depends on if you're talking offline or online editing. If you're gonna edit R3Ds directly, you need power, but for regular offline you could do that on a $1000 laptop.

Chris, thanks for that reply it was very helpful. I plan on having a workstation like you said for online editing and just my laptop for when traveling. Appreciate the help will start doing my research of what to buy now!
