Super 8 Commentary

So I'm listening to the Super 8 commentary ( I don't miss a JJ commentary - fun and informative ).

Mr. Abrams gives many props to the Red. He points out the pick-up shots were done on Red many times. The main shoot was film. It's even mentioned how it is hard to tell the difference between the two.

He's such a good filmmaker and a class act.

Now that Star Trek will be done 3D (stereo) I wonder what rig he'll be using...

Some very nice making-of documentaries on the disc as well, though I was disappointed they didn't do more on the VFX. The color-correction on the docs is kind of all over the place, but my guess is that they were trying to create a sort of vintage "Super 8 reversal" quality; to me, it just comes out looking weird and thin, which is not how Super 8 film has to look. Weird choice.

The movie itself looks spectacular. Larry Fong is an amazing DP (and a pretty decent magician, too).
