  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Sun chart programs

We don't use them in Seattle... no sunlight here.

I have a Palm Treo phone and I use an app called 'Planetarium'. It will show the position of the sun and moon for any time of the day and for any location around the world. It is really great, but will not actually "plot" the arc of the sun over time like SunPath does (another program www.wide-screen.com/sunPATH/index.shtml) that actually plots the arc using a Mac or PC.) . There is also another one I saw recently (I forgot the name) but it was kind of expensive at $300.00 if I recall right. Hope that helps.

SunPath is the program

SunPath is the program

Go to FilmTools.Com and check out the program SunPath. It has some 80,000 cities, counties, places of interest in the USA and abroad. Type in your needed date and it can display & print out a graphic chart with the exact sun position [azmith & altitude]. Use a 1-degree compass & inclinometer to plot it out. Great for time-lapse work & location scouts.
I've been using this program for over a decade all over the world, its great!
