Avid mbox pro is not giving clear audio out from new mac pro. What other monitor speaker solution do you suggest? How are you monitoring your audio with new mac pro?

Genelec 8040 + Apollo Twin from Universal Audio gives you a great flat sound with a lot of mix possibilities...

What monitors are you using now, how is your room setup, what is your budget for new monitors?

And how many inputs are you using on the mbox / what's your interface budget / do you see yourself wanting to take the interface out into the field or will it live with the nMP?

right now mbox pro attached to new mac pro through firewire adapter. 5.1 speakers attached to mbox pro. sound is very noisy, even tried direct audio from new mac pro sound bit noisy but when played on tv(tv connected through bmd 4k extreme card ) audio sounds clear/good.
David.W- right now we are using Behringer m16s
David. Coughlan- we will keep the interface attached to our nMP

We are not into creating audio we just need 5.1 speaker system to edit audio that comes pre recorded in video files.

Are you really doing 5.1 surround or are you mainly doing stereo? Budget wise it sure would be cheaper getting a nice pair of monitors rather than poping for 5 plus sub.

Is this a professional setup, as in earning a living, or a hobby setup? The reason I ask, is your current $80 monitors are pretty low end for doing pro work. Did you have a budget in mind for each monitor?

krk rokits are great! Also Genelecs are very good too as mentioned eariler in the thread.

When you monitor with headphones through the mbox are you still hearing noisy audio?

I use a pair of Event Studio 8s which they no longer make and a RME fireface 800 interface. The RME is one of the best interfaces I've used and I wouldn't hesitate top buy the newer Event Opals.

Sorry when you say "edit" do you mean just moving audio around with the footage before it goes off somewhere to be mixed, or are you in charge of the final mix?
