Hey guys, hoping to get some suggestions from you on this.

Currently in post on a web-series I shot. In an effort to be efficient, I took R3d stills from the timeline for the Pilot episode, so I could do some loose grading on my own. I've just been playing around in Redcine-X. If I was to continue doing it this way, I would then just copy the look from my stills and paste it to the matching video file.

Anyone have a more streamlined way to do this? I also have DaVinci, if anyone thinks there's a good solution using that.

Thanks,

Sharif

The same RMD files used in RCX are available in DaVinci Resolve as well. Apply them to the directories prior to your conform and they'll either pop right up or be available with a few clicks. I depends on what will be used during the finish, thats where I would focus trying to get a useable workflow path.

Doing the correction in Resolve also will allow you to use the Gallery to compare the look to any of dozens, hundreds, or thousands of still-frames used throughout the project. To me, RedCineX-Pro is only a dailies tool. Using it for final color for anything is absolutely nutty. Only with something like Resolve, Premiere, Baselight, Scratch, Speedgrade, or another serious color-correction tool can you color-time images in context, to the point where you can make adjustments for different days, different color temperatures, use power windows and keys to separate foreground images from background, and other very complex corrections.
