Subforums...Dragon, Weapon?

I think the subforums need a bit of a revise. There's a Dragon Forum and a Weapon Forum. There's a whole range of cameras that kind fit in both.

Weapon MG and Carbon 6k have Dragon sensors, both forums apply, therefore redundant?

Maybe merge those and start a Heluim forum? Move all the Epic-W and Weapon 8k into that?

Lot's of Epic-W posts in the Epic forum...completely different cameras. DSMC2 section? I'm sure Epic and Epic Dragon guys don't wanna sift through all the Epic-W posts.

It's just a but messy right now.

Thanks for bringing this up. I was thinking the same. Perhaps it is the right time to start a new forum for the Helium sensor cameras.

Yeah, at this point I think the forums should be grouped by sensor. All the same pertanant information applies to both Helium 8k and Epic-W, etc.

I would group the following.

Helium - Weapon Helium, Epic-W

Dragon VV 8k

Dragon DSMC2 - Weapon 6k CF, Magnesium, Scarlet W, Raven

Dragon DSMC1 - Epic Dragon, Scarlet Dragon

MX - Epic MX, Scarlet MX

Red One

There should only be one group per camera body. Red One, DSMC1, DSMC2. Then one group for Dragon and one for Helium.

It's so unnecessary to spread subjects thin, even with those groups I think it's rather enough. Some of us have been asking for a business and art & craft part of the forum to no effect. We can't look at sub-groups based off the number of cameras, sensors and bodies really, but out of the type of discussions that comes up. Most of the time, the topics posted relates to Red cameras as a whole, since the infrastructure is mostly the same. So "Red Discussions" is the part getting most and best topics.

There has to be a cleanup. I mean, "Epic-M owners" is quite old now and out of date, why is that posted at the top parts of the forum? And instead of having Dragon, Weapon and Raven under "The DSMC system" it's in the top region. "RED workflow" is the most viewed and used area of the forum and it's way down. Even "Off Topic" has discussions better applied to some Red related parts.

I think there needs to be an overhaul of the entire forum. Place old things like "Epic-M owners" in a section called "Nostalgia" or "Back in the days", that would probably even increase the rate people read some of them.

Some months ago, I did a complete list of what the forum should look like, even offered my services to sort old threads into the new ones.

I can't find it anymore. I think was deleted.
